RENEW YOUR MIND
Going Deep into Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
- Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)
"Brethren"
First things first, this is not just for the boys!
Again, Paul is writing to the believers in Rome, who are now part of the family of God, and they are his brothers and sisters in Christ.
Why is this so important? It might seem redundant to now point out for the 3rd time, who Paul is talking to, but recall that scripture states in 1 Corinthians 2:14, "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
So as we continue to go deeper and deeper into the truth of God's word, if all of this seems like foolishness and mumbo jumbo, you may want to stop here and pray that God would fill you with His Spirit, and fill you with His love. Feel free to leave a comment with your name so that all those who continue on this journey can keep in mind to pray for you as well!
Even if you are not yet a believer and part of the body of Christ, you are still loved by God! "For God so loved THE WORLD that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
In contrast, if you are experiencing more freedom and empowerment by this truth, and a deeper love of God's word, then my dear brethren, aka members in the body of Christ, aka the Church, aka part of the family of God, aka believers, aka, children of God, aka those who have been saved, aka, those who have been sanctified, aka, those who have been set apart, aka, those that are His peculiar people, aka Christ carriers . . .!
Yes, you! My dear brethren, read on!
